2012 can be called the Year of the 9 for the Jordan brand. After a slew of colorways, including the Kilroy Alter Ego Pack, we will get one more, The Doernbecher.
Every year Nike teams up with the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and release a limited edition set of shoes. Often coveted is the Jordan brand release, in a unique colorway designed by one of the children. This year we see a White/Metallic Gold/Black retro IX with featuring a feather pattern, Pollito on the tongue (Spanish for “little chicken”) and the number 17 on the heel designed by Oswaldo Jiminez. His birthday, September 13th, is inside the tongue, and his name is on the pull tab.
The shoes will drop 11/30 at nike.com and authorized nike retail locations.
