Conclusion: Good-Seller.com has again hit a home run with the Retro 7 Gold Medal colorway. They were one of the first on the scene to offer this colorway, and still with much unknown about how exactly they will look, it seems they really got this right. Once again lending support to their claim that that these shoes are made in the same factory as the originals.
The box and retro card are pointless as part of the Gold Medal Package, but the package and shoes arrived in good shape. When I first pulled these out of the box I was surprised how clean they were. Leather and suede were high quality and color was spot on. Compared to my recent retail pickup of the 7 olympics, the size and shape was dead on as well.
Now the tongue size, pattern and lettering are slightly different that most of the sample pictures floating around, however we won’t know exactly how they should look until they come out on the 18th. The closer I’d look at them the more I’d see tiny imperfections, but I wouldn’t even say any more-so that most retail pick-ups I’ve had. Slight residue on the sole, paint slightly off, and there was a scuff on the heel and silver mark as pictured. Really pretty far from a deal breaker, and based on Good-Seller’s FAQ, I’d say these could be samples or b-grades. They’re just too close to the real thing.
