Sony announced a price increase for their Playstation Plus membership. Starting September 22nd 2016 prices will go from $50 a year to $60 a year.

While $10 may not seem like much of a hike, it represents a 20% increase which is sure to net a hefty profit for Sony who has already seen impressive gains in their stock prices. While Microsoft’s Xbox “Scorpio” has given insiders doubts that Sony can outperform in the next generation, their step into VR may give Sony a strong tailwind going into the future.
