Nike has unveiled the 2016 OHSU Doernbecher collection. The annual series raises money for the Children’s Hospital and is a favorite among sneakerheads. Limited availability and wild colorways styled by kids at the Doernbecher Hospital make these releases very attractive to the sneaker community.
As usual, the Jordan Retro will be the crown jewel of the collection, likely selling out nearly instantly with exaggerated resale to follow.
This year it’s a Retro 7 with classic Bulls inspired colorway. Designed by Damien Phillips to reflect his love of the Guitar. It features a sunburst coloring on the upper and a features a kid playing a Gibson Thunderbird on a translucent sole.
The Nike Basketball offering in the Doernbecher collection is a Kyrie 2 designed by Andy Grass. It honors his Aunt Peggy who battled breast cancer while Andy was struggling himself at OHSU.
Other offerings include another Janoski Max, two Air Max Zeros, and a Huarache Run. Matching attire is expected as well.
