How to Side Load Kodi on Amazon Fire Stick – Tutorial

If you have an Amazon Fire Stick but want access to hundreds of free streaming apps you’ll need Kodi. With ES File Explorer removed from the Amazon Store, you’ll have to use your computer to “side load” Kodi onto your computer.

Disclaimer: A Kodi build on a Amazon Fire Stick can give you access to tons of legal content but also to illegal live TV and movie streams. CTK does not condone or promote illegal actions, so, hey, just be responsible and whatnot. If you get into the illegal content, fry your products, quit your job from an HBO addiction, that’s on you.

Now this should be relatively painless process but if you have hiccups or questions feel free to hit us up on twitter.

Here are the tools you’ll need to install Kodi from your computer.

1: An Amazon Fire Stick or Fire TV
2: AdbLink (Formerly adbFire App for your Windows PC or Mac
3: The Kodi APK or AppStarter APK (We recommend using AppStarter for easy updating in the future)

  1. i purchased a jailbroken firestick and went to turn tv on today and it wont loiad. i am stuck at available networks which it wont let me do anything.

    1. Unfortunately there’s no way of knowing what the did to it to jailbreak it. Try pairing the remote and if that doesn’t work, try returning it. It’s not only cheaper, but often easier to jailbreak your own.

  2. i am curious once kodi is installed do i need to download phoenix or another programme to watch all the free movies tv shows etc or does kodi already do this on its own.

  3. I bought a jail broken fire stick. It worked at first but after a week i lost access to theatre movies n tv shows.
    What can I do??

    1. without knowing what the person who sold it to you did, there’s no way to know. What apps were you using on Kodi?

  4. Help I purchased a firestick that was advertised as jailbroken, but is not. Every option on firestick charged fees. So now can I follow the above directions and not be caught up with any fees?
