The Retro 1 “Rare Air” is a throwback to Tinker Hatfield’s prototype designs for the iconic Air Jordan. Velcro patches on the tongue and “Air Jordan” branding instead of the wings set these apart from the finished Jordan 1 we saw on the court. Nike has recently brought back the Rare Air in a Cool Grey and Bred colorway, but now we get something a little more contemporary.
The Jordan 1 OG Shattered Backboard colorway will grace the Rare Air. Premium tumbled leather on the upper and Nike Air Branding on the heel will please most Retro 1 fans and offer a very nice alternative to the $300+ SBB’s. Something you can wear around without that guilt of beating up a prized pair of kicks.
