Adidas and Bodega have teamed up to release a collaboration shoe inspired by the visuals of Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey released in the iconic 1960s.
The aesthetic of the film is captured with strong accents and bold textures that make reference to elements of space. The entire upper is laced with hits of 3M reflective nylon mesh. Kubrick’s vision of space are evident in the deep blue speckled midsole. Yellow and orange hues found on the space suits worn by crew of the Discovery One don the lining, heel tab and sole. The tongue and heel stabilizer are done in suede to add depth, referring to the vast vacuum of space. The leather lining and out sole show that Bodega and Adidas do not skimp when it comes to quality materials.
The Bodega x Adidas ZX Flux comes with black laces on the shoe as well as red and off-white alternates to bump up style and contrast. Subtle placement of the Bodega brand on the lace tips, tongue and heel loop step back to allow other elements of this finely crafted shoe to stand on their own. Some sizes of the Bodega x Adidas ZX Flux are still available from the Bodega Store online with a global release set for July 25th. We will definitely be copping these interstellar kicks.
