The Ugly: Wrong heel shape, tongue AIR logo outline, Plastic Carbon Fiber, Heel swoosh crooked, sole too translucent, toe box too long.
Conclusion: For the most part, replica foamposites do not do their authentic counterparts justice. The quality of the shoe was ok, no paint marks, or glue smell. RepDream (aka replover) seems to ship decent goods, but still fake.
In fact the foamposite is so far from the mark I can’t bring myself to call it a replica. It’s down right fake. The foamposite material is way too soft and easily creases. The weight difference was 10 ounces, close to a pound apart. You notice it too, as the materials just don’t feel as good as they should.
For fake foamposites they’re exactly what you’d expect. With the recent restocks, if you’re waiting on some crimson foamposites, keep your eye on our restock page and give these guys a pass.
The Good: Stiffer material for foamposite replica. No glue marks. Toebox shape.
The Bad: None.
The Ugly: Color is a little light, camo pattern doesn’t align on heel, no carbon fiber
Conclusion: rap001.com seems to be on the ball when it comes to both shipping and quality. I’ve ordered a few foamposite replicas in the past. The material is usually squishy, heel is straight and not pear shaped, and they are usually uncomfortable. The minor differences aside (camo pattern and color) these look just like the samples.
While not perfect in heel shape, it’s a lot closer. Just like with the Kobe YOTS I reviewed, it seems they’re paying attention to the details. The carbon fiber is just hard plastic, no texture but buseats clear carbon fibre fix would give it the right texture.
Probably the strangest part is the comfort. I have a few pair of authentic Foam Pros and these are much more comfortable. I could rock these all day. Feels like the foamposite is hugging me feet. Not sure how they’d stand up while balling, but they’re pretty solid. Sole isn’t weak and flexible like a lot of replicas, and the construction seems sound.
All in all this colorway hasn’t dropped yet, and likely won’t until summer so we can’t be sure how close to Authentic these are. Either way, feel free to rock them, because hey, no one knows what they look like yet!
CopTheseKicks has had a lot of traffic lately from people looking for “cheap fighter jet foamposites” or Fake, or Replica fighterjet foams. The Nike Air Foamposite One “Fighter Jet” (aka Black/Hyper Red-Dark Grey-White or Camo) dropped yesterday, 2/9/13 online and at select retail locations and sold out within minutes.
Altho I’m not a big fan of most foamposites, especially this colorway, I can understand frustration of losing your pair to a hypebeast or reseller. Some people turn to fakes, or shady websites when they miss their chance.
So far the images I’ve seen creep up on google image search when you type “fighter jet foamposite” are showing a large number of fakes that also look way off the mark.
So I’m including a picture for comparison between the legit fighter jet foams and the fakes. You can decide for yourself.
Fighter Jet Foamposite Real Vs Fake: Click To Enlarge
The most noticable differences are:
Camo pattern, cluttered and erratic on the fakes.
Carbon fiber replaced by hard plastic with red dots
Heel tab too short, 1/2 ¢ logo too large
And of course, here is a youtube video so you can compare for yourself.
If you had your heart set on this release, the best bet would to be, cop a pair off ebay with good pics and receipt, or wait for footlocker to restock.
