The Ugly: Wrong heel shape, tongue AIR logo outline, Plastic Carbon Fiber, Heel swoosh crooked, sole too translucent, toe box too long.
Conclusion: For the most part, replica foamposites do not do their authentic counterparts justice. The quality of the shoe was ok, no paint marks, or glue smell. RepDream (aka replover) seems to ship decent goods, but still fake.
In fact the foamposite is so far from the mark I can’t bring myself to call it a replica. It’s down right fake. The foamposite material is way too soft and easily creases. The weight difference was 10 ounces, close to a pound apart. You notice it too, as the materials just don’t feel as good as they should.
For fake foamposites they’re exactly what you’d expect. With the recent restocks, if you’re waiting on some crimson foamposites, keep your eye on our restock page and give these guys a pass.
Adidas adiZero D Rose 3.0 Nightmare Before Chriatmas from www.repdream.com (aka collectdream/dopepickup)
Quality: Replicas 4.5/5
Comfort : 3.5/5
The Good: Beautiful detail, reflective, No glue or stitching issues.
The Bad: None, Simply flawless.
The Ugly: Sole too black/solid, doesn’t glow. Shoelace tips should be black.
Conclusion: The Nightmare Before Christmas pack was released on 12-24-12 by Adidas and included several shoes inspired by Tim Burton’s classic “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. These shoes were purple and black with glow in the dark accents and simply beautiful.
Only one replica was released from that line, the D-Rose 3.0. This was our first pickup from repdream.com (now collectdream.com) and they nailed it. This shoe leaves little to be desired. Even the reflective Rose logo on the tongue is dead on. The only give away, besides soles that don’t glow in the dark, is a too dark midsole. This is hardly noticeable walking around, and when you consider how well they did with the reflective, almost holographic purple body it’s barely a footnote. These fit exactly like the authentics (which for this shoe is a little snug so order big).
We decided to do another on the foot, side by side comparison and you’ll see for yourself, they’re almost indistinguishable.
Our Kudos to repdream also for their packages arriving in perfect condition.
Conclusion: The first few attempts at the Retro 9 Kilroy ended up looking downright fake, almost like they weren’t trying. We saw review after review on youtube, meanwhile the Retro 9 Kilroy enjoyed a record 7 restocks. Cop These Kicks has been getting a lot of requests to review a “Fake Kilroy” so we finally did.
This was our first order from repdream.com. I think by now it’s obvious they’re using the same factory as hiphopiop but I will say, their customer service is slightly better and the package arrived in perfect shape, not beat and bent.
The shoe itself did have a “glue smell” that will give you a headache, but i have to say thats the worst of it. They’ve really improved the Kilroy, next to perfect. It stands up against our retail pickup in almost every way. The most disappointing flaw for me is the tongue. Too thick, wrong font, doesn’t pop like it should. This is realitively minor tho compared to most replica issues.
The “platinum” leather is too thick, and it’s noticeable next to the authentic pair. Seams bulge a little, makes the tongue puffy, however, stand alone, you wouldn’t notice it. Like most replica 9′s it has the reversed jumpman on the heel. This is a throwback to all Retro 9 releases prior to 2012.
Finally, if you don’t want to ruin your Kilroys but want to rock a pair, these will look as good as the real thing on your feet.
With the Jordan Retro 9 Alter Ego craze in mid hype, theres a lot of people trying to cop these. Even more trying to cop them all without blowing a hole in their wallet. copthesekicks.com can appreciate wanting to pickup a pair of j’s on the cheap, but you don’t want to get ripped off and thats what these are.
So far from what I’ve seen, most of the Kilroy (Alter Ego) series from non retail have been WAY below standard. I wouldn’t even call them replicas. Downright fake. Wrong tongue tag, wrong number on heel, no embroidering, wrong sole patterns. These aren’t the kind of thing you can fix either.
But don’t take my word for it, check out the video for yourself.
And the legit sneakers can still be found online, the Kilroy Colorway has had a record 8 restocks since launch. Finishline.com Footlocker.com
